Why we’re asking

The future of West Creek Road, Langhorne Creek (portion of) has been considered by Council in 2023 and 2025.

At its October 2025 meeting, Council resolved to proceed to community engagement on the proposal to close a portion of West Creek Road to vehicular traffic under Section 32 of the Road Traffic Act 1961.

When a road is closed under Section 32, it can mean the road remains as road but is closed to vehicle traffic.

Council is seeking feedback from residents, landowners, road users, emergency services, local businesses and the broader community to better understand the potential impacts, benefits and concerns associated with the proposal.

What we’re asking

Council is inviting community feedback on the proposed closure of a portion of West Creek Road to vehicular traffic.

Feedback is sought on matters including:

  • Current use of the road
  • Potential impacts on access and connectivity
  • Road safety considerations
  • Environmental or amenity outcomes

Why we’re asking / how community feedback will influence decision making

Community feedback is an important part of Council’s decision-making process and will help inform whether the proposed road closure should proceed.

All submissions received during the engagement period will be reviewed and considered by Council prior to a final decision being made. Feedback may assist in identifying community concerns, operational impacts, opportunities for improvement, or alternative approaches that should be considered.
