Project update
Council received and noted a report on the Community Engagement results on the proposed closure of a portion of West Creek Road Langhorne Creek for the purpose of sale at the August 2025 Council Meeting. A report on the outcomes from Administration was also received and noted.
Council resolved to explore options for the type of road closure which may include closure only or closure and sale and bring a further report back to the October Council Meeting.
About the project
Council proposed to close and sell a portion of West Creek Road, Langhorne Creek between Mosquito Creek Road and McAnaney Road following a request from an adjoining landowner.
Council has carried out previous informal consultation in relation to this proposal and Council resolved to progress the road closure process.
We asked if the proposed road closure is supported or opposed by the community in accordance with the legislative requirements. Any person who wished to object must also provide their full name and address and provide details of why they objected.
The Roads (opening and Closing) Act 1991 requires specific notification in relation to the preliminary plan for the proposed road closure.
Any person who wished to object must also forward a copy of the objection to the Surveyor-General at GPO Box 1815, Adelaide SA 5001.
The information received from the submissions was also used to prepare a further report to Council to decide whether or not to recommend the proposed road closure to the Surveyor-General.
