Thank you to everyone who provided feedback.
We anticipate the works will in commence August and be complete by October 2025 (weather permitted).
As part of our renewal program, Council is planning to make minor revisions to the dirt jump facility at Mount Compass Recreation Park.
Over time, prevailing weather, trail building and rider use have altered elements of the facility.
Council has engaged Next Level Mountain Bike, a professional trail builder, to assess remediation and possible improvements for the site that focuses on:
Enhancing the rider experience
Creating a sustainable and maintainable jumps line
Reducing rider risk and improving safety.
Come along to our information drop-in session for riders and view our proposed concept design.
Stop by any time between 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

We are wishing to share our plans and ideas and engage with the dirt jump riding community on what we are proposing to modify.
Please note that any suggestions should:
Remain within budget
Meet acceptable risk standards
Be sustainably constructed
Provide an inclusive riding experience across a beginner to intermediate range.
The Proposed Concept Design:
Redesigns the Snake Run entry trail and new link-backs via the new return line
Retains the existing layout while rebuilding and adjusting the spacing between jumps to achieve a smoother jump flow.
Reshapes and lowers the start ramp, repurposing excess soil on-site.
Reconstructs all jumps with larger landing zones to enhance safety and support skill progression.
Reshapes the large jump line, maintaining current spacing with minor refinements for improved rider flow.
Redesigns the small jump line with optimal spacing to enable smoother transitions and potential crossovers with the large jump line.
Expands all berms to support consistent rider momentum and improved flow.
A new gravel surface to optimise drainage using consistent out-sloping and regular grade reversals.
Works Schedule
Weather permitting, work on the Mount Compass Recreation Park Dirt Jump Facility is scheduled to begin in August and is expected to be complete October 2025.
