At the Council Meeting on 18 May 2026, Council did not approve the installation of dedicated long vehicle parking bays on Hutchinson Street, Goolwa and consider alternative options in Coddington Street and Beach Road, Goolwa.

About the project

Council sought feedback on a proposal to install two (2) dedicated long vehicle parking bays along Hutchinson Street, adjacent to the Goolwa Village Shopping Centre.

Council reviewed opportunities for long vehicle parking options in Goolwa to reduce parking pressures for long vehicles, such as:

  • recreational vehicles (RVs)
  • buses
  • vehicles towing caravans, trailers or horse floats.

By enhancing access to the main shopping centre, Council aims to promote Goolwa as an RV-friendly destination and a welcoming stop for tourists travelling with long vehicles.

At the same time of this consultation, Council sought community feedback on the proposal to install two (2) dedicated long vehicle parking spaces at the Goolwa Wharf Precinct.
