Alexandrina Council has prepared draft concept plans for proposed upgrades to the Encounter Bikeway to improve safety, amenity and user experience.

The draft concept plans are divided into 9 sections of the Bikeway. Each section includes a variety of proposed upgrades including route realignment options, new off road or enhanced on road bikeways, intersection safety improvements and bridge upgrades.

You can view the draft concept plans (all sections) here, or in person at the Goolwa Office (Cadell Street, Goolwa) where the proposed Plans on display in the library prior to completing the survey below.

The following survey will ask for your feedback on the 9 sections of the Bikeway. You can provide feedback on as many or as few of the sections as you wish by answering no and skipping to the next question and relevant section.

Submissions will be accepted by Council until 9am, Monday 13 June 2022.

Council welcomes feedback from our community regarding the Encounter Bikeway 

After reviewing the draft concept plans, you can ‘Have Your Say’ by completing the online survey below.

Enlarged copies of the Plans are on display in the Goolwa Library (Cadell Street, Goolwa).
Drop in to review and complete a hard copy survey today. 

Submissions will be accepted until 9am on Monday, 13 June and can be provided:

  • In Person - where you can complete a hard copy survey at the Strathalbyn or Goolwa offices
  • By Mail - Please direct all written submissions to alex@alexandrina.sa.gov.au
    or by post to the Chief Executive Officer, PO Box 21, Goolwa SA 5214
  • Online - complete the online survey below.


Drop In Sessions

Council staff members will be available to discuss the proposed Encounter Bikeway upgrades at the drop sessions on:

  • Friday, 20 May 2022 at the Goolwa Library from 12-3pm
  • Saturday, 21 May 2022 at the Chiton Rocks SLSC 1–4pm.

Feedback received will be considered and the upgraded plans will then be finalised.
