What is 'open space'?
Land that is able to be utilised for formal or informal recreation, play, sport or passive green space utilised for the preservation of natural environments.
What is the Recreation, Open Space, and Sport Strategy (ROSS)?
It is the development of a strategy which will inform levels of service for all Recreation, Open space and Sport facilities and will be instrumental in the future development of Open space within the Alexandrina Council area.
How will this strategy affect the existing recreation, open space and sports facilities in our community?
This strategy will have developed levels of service that will be utilised in the future development of open spaces within Alexandrina Council which will also help to inform the funding requirements long term to meet those needs.
What types of facilities and spaces will be reviewed in this strategy?
How can residents provide input or feedback for the ROSS?
Residents can provide input or feedback throughout this engagement process or when the draft ROSS is forwarded to the Community for feedback early 2025.
How will the feedback from the community be used in developing the strategy?
Feedback from the community is vital and will help Council understand the needs and priorities of our community when it comes to Recreation, Open space and Sport facilities.
Council has been engaging with the community to inform this strategy since the 2023 Village Conversations.
