About the Committee
Alexandrina Council is seeking Expression of Interest (EOI) for membership for a section 41 Climate Emergency and Environment Committee.
The Committee’s principal role is to advice Council on the implementation of Council’s Climate Emergency Declaration, its Environmental Action Plan, and associated Council plans, strategies, and policies.
The Committee will be working collaboratively with Council Administration and will help setting key priorities in the Committee’s work plan; playing an active role in the implementation of key priorities identified in the work plan; and being accountable for the implementation of these key priorities.
First Nations People and younger community members / students are strongly encouraged to apply.
The Membership of the Committee will consist of two Council Member Representatives, one Independent Chairperson, and up to eight Members of the community. The Council Member Representatives are Cr Coomans and Cr Livingston.
