Is our unique wooden boat heritage important to you?
Armfield Slip is a Council-owned and operated volunteer – based wooden boat restoration and building facility. It provides a valued social capital program for members of the community and is also recognised for its contribution to preserving local history and maintaining the skills of wooden boat building and restoration.
Armfield Slip is a Section 41 Committee of Council. Its purpose is to assist the Council in “preserving and displaying the wooden river boats of Australia”. Constituting a formal advisory committee of Council, Council is responsible and liable for the safety, financial performance and operations of Armfield Slip.
Working with the members of Armfield Slip, Council is currently undertaking a review into options that will ensure a sustainable future for Armfield Slip.
One that will optimise the potential of this unique community facility.
