It's taken a few years but an application to reduce speed limits down to 70km/h along sections of Dry Plains Road and Nine Mile Road has been approved by the State Government. This will also include an extension of the 50km/h speed limit zone along Dry Plains Road past the Strathalbyn SA Ambulance Service.

Following community consultation and an independent review of speed limits back in 2021, Council resolved to formally apply to the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) to reduce the speed limits along sections of Dry Plains Road and Nine Mile Road.
DIT has the final say regarding speed limit changes and recently approved Council's formal submission.
