Consultation has concluded
Alexandrina Council is seeking feedback for the renewal of playground equipment at the Flying Fish Reserve, Horseshoe Bay Port Elliot. Community Consultation for this project will be open from Tuesday 5 April until 25 April 2022.
The existing playground equipment is due for replacement and in agreement with the Port Elliot Town and Foreshore Association and Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) a priority has been to relocate the existing playground from the front of the (SLSC).
The new playground location will be 30m north of the existing location (see location map illustration), placing the equipment centrally near the climbing tree and reserve slope in the Flying Fish Reserve.
We are seeking your feedback on the preferred design Option one or Option two aimed for children (toddler aged to 5yo) which will be scheduled for installation.
Both options provide climbing and interactive equipment, slides and feature soft-fall
Option one includes a climbing tower and bridge, slides, a rappelling rope, carousel spinner, and one spring rocker.
Option two includes a pirate ship climber, slides, a beach buggy, octopus springer and an interactive dolphin sign.

What's next?
We are pleased to provide an update on this project.
Following consultation on renewal of the Playground Equipment at the Flying Fish Reserve, we are pleased to see community support for the design - Option 1.
This equipment includes a (coastal hardy) double tower and bridge play structure, slides, carousel, rope climber and spring rocker for toddler age children.
There will be an adjustment to building out and shaping the embankment slide and Council will schedule work commencing August 2022.
