Who are the Port Elliot Surf Life Saving Club?
The Port Elliot Surf Lifesaving Club (the Club) entered into a lease with Council in 1999 for a term of 21 years. The lease expired in June 2020, with the Club continuing to provide lifesaving services from the site while the new facility was built. The new facility is now completed, with a new lease required to reflect the new facility and the Port Elliot Surf Club as the owner of the facility (similarly to the Goolwa and Chiton Rocks Surf Life Saving Clubs. The draft lease reflects the same footprint as the previous lease including the Horseshoe Bay Boat Ramp.

Where is it located?
The PESLSC is located off Cutting Road, Horseshoe Bay Port Elliot. The lease area can be viewed on the map here and mirrors their previous lease area of approx. 2,209m2
The Lease has been prepared as a Ground Lease, with all improvements on the site (including the building) to be owned and maintained by the Surf Club.
Fee
The annual rental fee for an Emergency Services lease is peppercorn ($1.00) per annum. This fee is in accordance with Council’s Lease and Licence Policy and Annual Fees and Charges. The Group would remain responsible for all building maintenance & renewal costs, rates, service connections and outgoings.
