Alexandrina Council and the District Council of Yankalilla are currently inviting expressions of interest from qualified professionals for the position of Deputy Independent Member on the Fleurieu Regional Assessment Panel (FRAP). The position is for the remainder of the current FRAP term, which is set to expire in August 2024.
Established in 2020 under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016, the FRAP is responsible for assessing and determining qualifying development applications within the areas of Alexandrina Council and the District Council of Yankalilla on the Fleurieu Peninsula. As a vital component of the state planning framework, the FRAP plays a critical role in ensuring that development is of high quality and complements the natural environment and surrounding townships.
Meetings of the FRAP are held monthly at various locations within the Alexandrina and Yankalilla districts, with the venue determined by the Assessment Manager based on the location of Agenda items. Meetings are currently scheduled for 11:00am on the third Tuesday of each month.
Applicants for the position must be accredited at Level 2 of the SA Government Accredited Professionals Scheme and ideally possess relevant qualifications or experience in the planning and development industry, including fields such as town planning, architecture, landscape architecture, law, urban design, or environmental planning. Members of the FRAP will be paid an allowance to cover time involved in preparing for and attending meetings.
