What is the land parcel there for and its current use?
This reserve was formed in 1992 when a larger parcel of land was subdivided to produce the residential allotments in the Formby Street and Sissons Road area of Strathalbyn. The reserve has never been developed beyond some perimeter planting and occasional slashing of plant growth.
Where is it located?
The land is located on the southern side of Formby Street, approximately 50 metres west of the intersection with Sissons Road.
Council Proposal
The revocation of the 4 Formby Street Strathalbyn land will enable the sale for residential development to occur. It is intended that if supported, the sale of the land parcel at 4 Formby Street, Strathalbyn will take place by way of an open and public disposal process.
Community benefit
Proceeds from the sale of the 4 Formby Street land provide an opportunity to re-invest into other identified projects, pay down debt or develop land parcels that could further contribute to Council’s strategic objectives while maximising return on investment for the community.
