Consultation has concluded
Alexandrina Council is continuing to encourage and promote responsible dog and cat ownership and in working with the community has developed a draft Animal Management Plan for 2018 -2023 which will replace the 2013 -2017 Animal Management Plan.
Some of the key issues based on State Government legislative changes are the introduction of a breeder’s register and the microchipping and desexing of new generation puppies and kittens from 1 July 2018. Dog on and off leash areas in the Alexandrina Council area will also be included in the plan.
The draft Animal Management Plan is now out for public comment and Council encourages people to review the plan and make submissions.
For further information please call Team Leader Community Safety, Glen Ryan, on 8555 7000.
