Update

At the 15 April 2024 Council Meeting, Council received the community engagement submissions on a proposed half basketball court at Alfred Langhorne Park, Langhorne Creek and has removed the capital project from the 2023/24 budget.

The proposal was a response to previous requests from the local community for additional basketball court facilities.

The 44 responses received during the public consultation period on the proposal were evenly divided on the location of the half court in the park and 72.7% of responses said the park would be more suitable for other facilities, such as toilets, playground, additional seating, a pump/BMX track, additional picnic settings and a shelter.

Council will consider further recreational facilities within the town through the draft Recreation and Open Space Strategy demand and needs analysis.
