Planning for the future is a big task and we can’t do it alone, so there are lots of ways for you to get involved.

Community Values – October 2019 to March 2020

Tell us what you think about the community values listed in Council’s current Community Strategic Plan 2014-23. We want to know if these values are still important to you and your view on whether Council is achieving outcomes consistent with these values.

Listening Posts – October/November 2019

During October and November, Council’s strategy team held Listening Posts at 13 community events, held 4 community focus groups in Goolwa and Strathalbyn, visited 7 schools across the District, held workshops with more than 100 council staff and received ideas from more than 1100 people. A report on what we heard was released in January 2020 – you can read it here.

Village Conversations– February/March 2020

In 2019, more than 1100 people shared their ideas for making Alexandrina an even better place to live, work and play. Through February and March 2020, we held a series of Village Conversations to inform the community what we heard about their vision for the future of Alexandrina and to talk with other local people about how you would prioritise Council spending to achieve community goals. These facilitated workshops provided lots of opportunity for community members to share their hopes and ideas for the future of our community.
