Mayor Kym McHugh is spearheading Alexandrina Council's national campaign to "move all salt to the sea" in an effort to keep the iconic Murray Mouth open and maintain a healthy, working Murray-Darling Basin.
In November, the Murray Darling Basin Authority released the draft Murray Darling Basin Plan with a 20 week consultation period.
On 16 April 2012, Alexandrina Council provided our submission on the Proposed Basin Plan to the Murray-Darling Basin Authority seeking amendments in the plan to include targets within the Lower Lakes for salinity, water levels and connectivity - among other requests.
Thanks to all those who viewed or commented on the " Move All the Salt to the Sea" campaign and lets keep working together as we await the outcome of the Basin Plan process.

This online consultation has concluded. You can still browse the site but the discussion area will no longer accept new comments or votes.

2. All salt, right back to Queensland, must be moved out to sea.
3. The Australian Government needs to set and ensure compliance targets.
